What would you like your character's tag to be?: "lucie miller" is just fine.

In 300-500 words total, tell us your...

Character's background (their past and present): Best summed up with this entry on the character. I'm drawing her from just before she learned of the Doctor's role in the death of her auntie Pat, before their friendship fell apart.

Character's personality: Lucie is a spectacularly fun character. She, Donna, and Sarah Jane remain my favorite of the Doctor's companions. She is spunky, smarter than she gives herself credit for, and trusts the Doctor implicitly -- which is part of what will someday lead to her death. When I heard my friend was applying for the 8th Doctor, my immediate thought was that he would need a companion, and while the 8th Doctor had some magnificent companions, particularly during the radio plays, Lucie Miller was truly one of my favorites.

Character's skills/abilities/powers: Thinking on her feet. That's just about it.

Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.: Snark, and the clothes on her back.

Are you bringing your character to [community profile] ten_fwd from another game? If you are, which game?: Nope!

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? Since the 8th Doctor was coming in with a canon cutoff shortly after Lucie's death, I thought a magnificent way to torment the poor Doctor would be by bringing in a Lucie just before their relationship began to deteriorate, when they were still the very best of friends. For him to know her fate... will he warn her? Can he? What would such a warning do to their friendship?

Beyond just acting as a foil for the Doctor (or, potentially, Doctors, plural, since there is another incarnation aboard the ship), Lucie is a strong character in her own right. She has a strong moral sense, and is willing to stand up to impossible odds to do what she believes is right. She has faced Daleks and Cybermen, she has seen whole sentient species exterminated, she's helped stop interstellar wars, and saved the Earth from several invasions. But despite all that, she remains a very down-to-earth, grounded young woman. She cares deeply about people, and while her passions can rule her decision-making, and even cause her to make errors in judgement, she is not so proud as to avoid apologizing when she realizes she has erred, and will do whatever it takes to set things right. In this regard, she can work to drive plots and character interaction both with and without the Doctor's presence.

Writing Sample #1: I've played in a number of other games with other characters, for the last 10 years. See here for me playing Lightning Lad from the Legion of Super-Heroes fandom.

Writing Sample #2 (optional): There's a [community profile] dear_mun post with me playing Lucie here. As of this writing, it has just a single thread with the 8th Doctor in it which is yet incomplete, but it is sure to grow.

If an additional sample is required, please let me know; I'm happy to do whatever you might request.
